Almost every step of the way from studying, and group work, taking exams, I realized that there was a lesson to learn and knowledge to gain.

I have to admit that a one year master program is very tough and rigorous. However, you get what you put in at Lingnan. Almost every step of the way from studying, and group work, taking exams, I realized that there was a lesson to learn and knowledge to gain.

The group work at Lingnan offered me a great opportunity to build team spirit which I learn how to deal with and respect the differences in every individual.  The friendship, care and passion of the group members have taught me a lot about the team spirit. We studied together, compete with each other, play together, and grew. I found that these experiences would contribute a lot to my professional life and for real businesses, since you will rarely work alone in your work life. The final consulting project opened a new perspectives to my professional life in real business context. It sharpened my critical thinking and opened my mind to practical solutions. Even more than that, being at Lingnan helped me learn a lot about myself and what I wanted in life. This finding will help guide my career and prepare me to get over fears and criticisms, as well as remember to celebrating the little victory and rewards along the way.

As an International student, Hong Kong is a perfect destination for you to step out of your comfort zone and learn various new things. I learned about Hong Kong culture, explored the countryside, nature and tried the local cuisine and it made my experience here sweet and memorable. I really enjoyed my year in Hong Kong.

As part of the MIB program, 1 year study allowing us to bond with classmates and professors. They are steady stream of support in both academic and daily life. Frequent interaction with international students offered me deeper insights of culture differences. I believe the consulting experience is the most rewarding part of this program. It is a fast track to develop marketing research and analysis skills under a real business setting. If you are looking for an international perspective and professional marketing study, MIB is a right decision for personal growth and excellence.

My skills in communication and teamwork have been challenged and improved significantly through the consulting project. The project is a step outside the academic environment where students find themselves with an authentic client concern that must be mapped out, understood and assessed. The consulting project provides the perfect medium for applying knowledge and skills in a professional, team-focused environment. Hong Kong provides an unbeatable cross-cultural environment where students find themselves actively applying and assessing elements like culture, language and cross-border agreements on a daily basis – an essential skill for business in an evermore-connected world. 

After reading about the MScMIB program online and being part of the program, there are no regrets.

The first question I was asked by many “why did you come to Hong Kong? Why didn’t you stay in the US?” After reading about the MScMIB program online and being part of the program, there are no regrets. 1 year program, with a 1 year marketing consulting project really makes this program worth it. Doing marketing consulting for real companies (in my case UNESCO HK) and trying to solve their real problems, really makes me feel special. Also visiting real companies in HK and getting expert knowledge outside the classroom is something that isn’t provided back home.

I wouldn´t hesitate about taking the decision to come to Lingnan once again!

My name is Diana Quintero, i am a Colombian citizen who decided to come to Hong Kong not only because i saw a great academic opportunity, but also because i knew it would give me an amazing life experience.

I´ve been here for only three months and it seems I know this place since ever; classmates, professors, university staff, food, places, everything here is wonderful.

Life in hostel couldn´t be better. I was used to live by myself back in home and I was concerned about the experience, but since I got here everybody was willing to help me. I´m sharing the hostel with some of my classmates who are one of the best persons I have ever met. We try to cook together at least twice per week, we share groceries spends and we are join a hike group.

As a foreigner, I really want to learn about Asian culture, so it meant a lot to me have an activity developed by the program in which I could appreciate the Mid-Autumn festival. We went to an important park in the city and enjoyed the view with classmates and professors. I also tried the famous mooncake and even though it is not my favorite dessert, at least I can say that I tried a typical chines cake!

I wouldn´t hesitate about taking the decision to come to Lingnan once again!
