2016 Academy of International Business Southeast Asia Regional Conference

The 2016 Academy of International Business Southeast Asia Regional (AIBSEAR) Conference, jointly organised by the Hong Kong Institute of Business Studies (HKIBS) of Lingnan University and the AIBSEAR Chapter with the theme Connectivity and Prosperity: ASEAN Economic Community and China’s Belt and Road Initiative, was held from 2 to 4 December at the Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS) and the Easeland Hotel, Guangzhou, China.

 

Prof Cui Geng, Director of HKIBS and Chairperson of AIBSEAR Chapter, and Prof Zhong Weihe, President of GDUFS officiated the Opening Ceremony on 2 December.  A total of 59 papers were presented at the conference with over 80 participants from 18 countries or regions including Australia, Chile, Mainland China, Denmark, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Macau, Malaysia, New Zealand, Portugal, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, the Philippines, the UK and the US.

 

Two guest speakers were invited to give keynote speeches including Prof Li Jiatao, Senior Associate Dean, School of Business and Management of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and Dr Quanxing Yang, President of Guangdong Textiles Imp & Exp Co Ltd. Prof Li Jiatao and Prof Gary Biddle, Chair of Accounting and PCCW Professor, School of Business of The University of Hong Kong were also invited to conduct the Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS) Paper Development Workshop.
