Lingnan University announced the concurrent appointments of two named professorships in January 2017. They included the appointment of Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice-President and Chair Professor of Comparative Policy, as Lam Man Tsan Chair Professor in Comparative Policy, and Prof Emilie Yeh, the newly appointed Chair Professor of Visual Studies, as Lam Wong Yiu Wah Chair Professor of Visual Studies.

The appointments, with a duration of five years, are recognition of Prof Mok’s and Prof Yeh’s academic achievements as well as academic leadership in teaching and research.

The University received a generous donation from the Lam Kei On Memorial Trust in October 2016 to establish the two named Chair Professorships in 2016/17. The Trust’s tremendous support will help the University to score higher academic and research excellence. In 2015/16, the Trust also made donation to establish the Mr Lam Man Tsan Memorial Fund which aims to support full-time undergraduate students who have financial difficulties and are the first generation in their families receiving a university education in Lingnan for more student exchange and internship opportunities.
