Lingnan University invites applications for admission to MPhil and PhD programmes

Admitted students will conduct in-depth research on specific areas. At research postgraduate level, Lingnan offers MPhil and PhD programmes in Chinese, Cultural Studies, English, History, Philosophy, Translation, Visual Studies, Business (including Accounting, Finance, Information Systems Management, Insurance, International Business, Management, Marketing, Operations Management and Decision Sciences), Economics, and Social Sciences (including Political Science and International Relations, Sociology, Social Gerontology, Social Policy and Psychology). 
 
Applicants should hold a relevant bachelor’s degree with first or second class honours, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the University, and fulfil language requirements. Some programmes may have specified additional requirements.
 
Outstanding applicants may seek admission to the PhD Programmes via the Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme established by the Research Grants Council (RGC). Successful awardees of the Scheme will be provided with a Fellowship with a monthly stipend of HK$20,000. To seek admission to our PhD programmes via the HKPFS, applicants should log on to www.rgc.edu.hk/hkphd to get a reference number by 1 December 2012 (Hong Kong Time 12:00 noon) and submit a full application directly to Lingnan’s electronic system at www.LN.edu.hk/admissions/applyonline by 3 December 2012. Students who apply for and do not get the fellowship can still be considered for the regular PhD places at Lingnan.
 
Applicants may also apply for admission to our MPhil/PhD programmes directly at www.LN.edu.hk/reg/info/pgrad/details/admission.php during 1 November 2012 to 31 January 2013. Normally, full-time students will be awarded Postgraduate Studentships which offer a monthly stipend of HK$14,000 (amount subject to review).
