Student Financial Assistance for Summer Internship Programmes 2019-20

Full-time current UGC-funded local students who are 2019-20 Tertiary Student Finance Scheme (TSFS) applicants are welcome to apply for this financial assistance to support your participation in offshore summer internships coordinated / organized by SSC (excluding Mainland China). 

This is financed by donation from the following parties and will be granted to successful applicants on top of the subsidies that you will receive from respective overseas summer internship programmes. Please check the List of Overseas Internship Programmes for more details about the programme details and subsidies.


Anonymous Overseas Summer Internship Subsidy Scheme

Subsidy Amount: max. HK$10,000 for internships in Asia and max. HK$25,000 for those outside Asia, depending on destination and duration

Eligibility and Criteria:

  1. Subsidies will be presented to full-time local undergraduate students who will participate in summer internship for at least 6 weeks.
  2. Priority will be given to students with financial needs.
  3. Preference will be given to*:
    a) Students have taken arts and/or music related courses of the current academic year.
    b) Students who are members of Lingnan University Sports Teams. 
    c) Students who are committee members of programme-based/ departmental societies, interest groups, student hostel associations or groups under University offices.
    d) Students obtained qualifications from The Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) , Trinity College of Music London or Central Conservatory of Music Practical Exam (Beijing).

American Women's Association (HK) Overseas Internship Financial Assistance

Subsidy Amount: HK$25,000 for overseas internship (excluding Asian countries) 

Eligibility and Criteria:

  1. The Financial Assistance shall be awarded to female students in their Year 2 or 3 of studies, with proven financial difficulties, studying in full-time UGC-funded undergraduate programme.
  2. Applicants should have achieved a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (cGPA) of 2.5 or above.
  3. Applicants have to submit application with an English essay/statement of 500 – 1,000 words outlining how an AWA grant will help and contribute to your professional and academic development.
  4. Successful applicants have to submit post internship programme report together with the form and an English reflective essay/statement of 500 – 1,000 words within 60 days after completion of the programme
  5. The Financial Assistance shall be used for subsidizing your expenses on overseas internship programme ranged from HK$50,000 – 90,000 (including programme fee, airfare, accommodation, and living expenses) as agreed by the University.
  6. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a selection interview in Feb / Mar 2020.

Mr & Mrs Chow Pak Choi Internship Assistance

Mr & Mrs Tsang Kam Man Internship Assistance

Subsidy Amount: HK$5,000 for internships in Asia, and HK$10,000 for those outside Asia

Eligibility and Criteria:

  1. Subsidies will be presented to full-time local undergraduate students who will participate in summer internship for at least 6 weeks.
  2. Priority will be given to students with financial needs.
  3. Students must be permanent residents of Hong Kong.
