Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries (DACI) at Lingnan University is delighted to announce its exceptional performance in the most recent Research Grants Council (RGC) funding competition.

He Shiwei, one of Lingnan’s new generation of calligraphers and painters, Lingnan University is more than an academy: it is an embodiment of the integration of art and technology.

About six hundred Lingnan students at different levels and from different disciplines won both external and internal accolades on their academic achievements and contributions to society. Among these is an animation and digital arts student for outstanding leadership and as a young advocate for equal education opportunities. final-year awardee Yolanda Ko Shuen from the Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries received a Chow Pak Choi Scholarship, a For Our Future Scholarship, and a Self-financing Post-secondary Scholarship Scheme - Outstanding Performance Scholarship.

DACI is inviting applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor to contribute to teaching and research in contemporary art, Chinese or European art, art collection or cognate areas in art and creative industries. The appointee is expected to: 1. teach relevant courses at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, including supervising undergraduate and/or postgraduate final projects; 2. to develop innovative and rigorous research and generate research outputs with high impact; and 3. to contribute to service and development of the Department.

The Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries at Lingnan University recently invited Taiwanese new media artist and XR director Prof Huang Hsin-chien to lecture on creating VR works and participating in international film festivals through a seminar and workshop in order to broaden the students’ horizons.
