Public Lecture - Executive Speakers Forum Series #1 (10 November 2023)

Our very first “Public Lecture – Executive Speakers Forum Series” for this academic year 2023-24 was successfully held on Friday 10 November 2023. We are truly honoured to have invited Dr Ho Ho-ming Stan, the Academic Dean of The Institute of Sustainability and Technology (IST) and Professor of Practice for the Master of Science in International Banking and Finance (MIBF) Programme, Department of Economics at Lingnan University, to share with our Taught Postgraduate Programmes students a “Winning Career Preparation in the ESG field”. Dr Ho delivered an exceptionally forward-thinking and inspiring speech to our students, interactively connecting with our students and providing numerous practical guidance solutions throughout the whole session and individual valuable advice to our students during the Q&A session.

Dr Ho introduced job opportunities and key players in the ESG field, offering a comprehensive showcase of ESG's current development. He encouraged students to actively engage in the Hong Kong government-funded “Pilot Green and Sustainable Finance Capacity Building Support Scheme" to enhance their ESG knowledge reservoir and gain a competitive advantage in their career pursuits.

The public lecture received enthusiastic support and participation from teachers and students. Throughout the lecture, Dr Ho motivated students to actively participate by asking questions and encouraging them to share their thoughts, creating an open and engaging atmosphere. This dialogue greatly enhanced students' passion in learning about ESG and instilled in them confidence in their future career paths. Prof. SHI Shanshan, Director of Taught Postgraduate Programmes Office of the Faculty of Business, presented souvenirs and expressed gratitude to our honourable speaker, Dr Ho, for sharing his valuable insights and providing practical ESG career guidance. Prof. NI Na also attended the public lecture.
