LU team shared the Gerontechnology education and service models under the pandemic at the Conference on Gerontechnology (ICG2021)

 

Hong Kong Metropolitan University held the International Conference on Gerontechnology (ICG2021) on 23-25 November 2021. The theme of this year conference is “Gerontechnology in COVID-19: experience and revelation”. The 3-day conference provided keynote and master classes presentations by academics, researchers and health care professionals, sharing their valuable experiences during COVID-19 and the latest knowledge of gerontechnology. Hands-on experience, demonstration of technology from service provider and experience sharing from end-users will be provided in workshops.

 

Ms. Chloe SIU, Project Manager from Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies, was invited to conduct a workshop and present the topic “Technology and Tools for Community-Engaged Services and Learning During COVID-19” . Chloe shared the experiences of how the project team from the LU Jockey Club Gerontechnology and Smart Ageing project offered different productive ageing community educations and online activities through videos, Facebook, and Zoom for the general public to learn at home and promote humanity during the pandemic. Mr. Alfred CHAN, the Gerontechnology ambassador, also share his learning experiences with the conference participants at the workshop.
