Social Innovation Hub
Social Innovation Hub (SIH) is established in collaboration with the member institutions of Global Liberal Arts Alliance (GLAA) and Alliance of Asian Liberal Arts Universities (AALAU) to promote innovation and entrepreneurship in a liberal arts context. The SIH will be the pioneer in Asia in demonstrating the importance of liberal arts education in the innovation economy. It aims to foster students’ competence of Lingnan University (LUHK) in innovation and entrepreneurship (such as creative confidence, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) knowledge, and spirit of entrepreneurship) through design thinking training and Service-Learning (S-L) experience in order to grasp the opportunities on the innovation economy and the Belt and Road Initiatives.
The project includes (1) online training courses, (2) annual summer innovation camps with follow-up S-L projects, (3) international conferences, and (4) an indigenous training model of social innovation and inclusive entrepreneurship. Lingnan students and staff members, as well as participants from other local and overseas higher education institutions (including member institutions of GLAA and AALAU), will be inspired and developed into innovative and entrepreneurial leaders. On the other hand, scholars, corporate partners, community agencies, and S-L students will participate in two international conferences to share their innovative ideas and achievement in addressing local and global social issues.
