Prof Siu Oi-ling visits School of Psychology of Nanjing Normal University for academic exchange

Prof Siu Oi-ling, Professor and Head of Department of Applied Psychology of Lingnan University visited the School of Psychology of Nanjing Normal University (NJNU) from 2 to 3 April for academic exchange with their faculty and students, and explored the collaboration in offering a joint double master degree in Work and Organisational Psychology.

 

On the first day, Prof Siu presented an academic report on the topic of “The Role of Personality and Mindset in Stress Management in the Workplace”, with Prof Deng Zhu, Deputy Dean of the School of Psychology of NJNU as the host.  Her presentation session, with insights on various topics such as source of work stress and importance of positive mindset towards eliminating work stress, was attended by Prof Liu Changjiang and Prof Jiang Jingchuan of the School and over a hundred undergraduates and postgraduates.  Before the presentation, Prof Deng presented the certificate of appointment to Prof Siu on behalf of the School for appointing her as the School’s Guest Professor.

 

On the second day, Prof Siu held a seminar on the subject “Progress and Application of Research in Industrial and Organisational Psychology”.  Hosted by Prof Deng, her talk assembled representatives from the School including Prof Fu Hong, Dean, Prof Chen Qingrong, Deputy Dean and Associate Professor, Prof Liu Changjiang together with a number of postgraduate students.  During the seminar, Prof Siu introduced Lingnan’s Department of Applied Psychology and her related research conducted in the past 20 years and more.  Both universities look forward to introduce more collaborations and exchanges in the future, especially on the mechanism and model of undergraduate and postgraduate education, so that they can join hands in nurturing quality talents and professional development.
