Andrew Yao Cho-fai appointed as Chairman of the Council

Andrew Yao Cho-fai has been appointed by the Chief Executive as Chairman of the Council and an ex-officio member of Court of Lingnan University (LU) for a term of three years with effect from 1 January 2020.

 

“We are pleased to welcome Mr Yao as the Chairman of the Council,” President Prof Leonard K Cheng remarks. “With his wealth of knowledge and experience in the local tertiary education sector, Mr Yao will surely be in a superb position to lead the University to achieve further success in the years to come.”

 

He also thanks the immediate past Chairman Rex Auyeung Pak-kuen for his remarkable contribution and service to the University over the years. “Under his leadership as the Chairman of the Council, we have successfully carried out a number of important tasks, including the formulation of the new University’s Strategic Plan 2019-2025 and the signing and implementation of the University Accountability Agreement.”

 

Meanwhile, Carrie Leung Ka-lai and Christina Gaw have been appointed members of the Council and ex-officio members of the Court for a term of three years with effect from 1 January 2020.
