LU delegates attend 5th Annual Meeting of Sun Yat-sen University Cooperative Development Committee

On 16 January, a delegation of senior academic and administrative members of Lingnan University (LU) attended the Annual Cooperative Development Committee Meeting at Sun Yet-sen University (SYSU), LU’s sister institution.

 

The delegation, led by Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice-President and Lam Man Tsan Chair Professor of Comparative Policy of LU, met with Prof Xiao Haipeng, Vice-President of SYSU, and leading faculty members and representatives to exchange views on Sociology and Social Policy, Economics, Business, Psychology, History and Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Studies.

 

The two institutions agreed to increase cooperation in joint research and publications, knowledge transfer, talent development, student and staff mobility programmes and the development of government-recognised courses.

 

Prof Mok discussed LU’s latest studies in collaboration with SYSU on ageing and social problems, particularly in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, and believes their alliance will make even greater progress in 2020. Prof Xiao commented that SYSU treasures the strong bond with LU, and he looks forward to world-class outputs brought by the cooperation between the two institutions.
