James Fanciullo from the Department of Philosophy, and Yusuf Ikbal Oldac of the School of Graduate Studies have been awarded the RGC Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Scheme 2021/22 for academic excellence and outstanding research ability.

These achievements of LU scholars echo the recent outstanding performance of Lingnan in the Research Assessment Exercise 2020, in which over 50 per cent of LU submitted research outputs were rated either World Leading (4-star) or Internationally Excellent (3-star), while its Sociology and Anthropology came first, and Accountancy, Philosophy, and Social Work and Social Policy came second among all public universities in terms of the percentage of 4-star research work.

For Social Work and Social Policy, 54 per cent of research outputs were rated 4-star or 3-star, the highest in Hong Kong, while Accountancy comes second (65%). In terms of reach and significance, 56 per cent were assessed to have achieved “Considerable or Outstanding Impact”.
