In his orientation welcome speech, LU President Prof Leonard K Cheng called upon the students to make the best of their education at Lingnan, and to “seize every opportunity to learn”. “Lingnan is a closely-knit community of students and scholar-teachers, and we are all here to support you,” he said. “While we remain vigilant against the pandemic, we are optimistic that in this new academic year activities on campus can be held as usual, and we shall continue to review teaching and learning arrangements to ensure that our students receive the best and most valuable learning experiences.”

The postgraduate student “LingU, Links U” orientation was held both on-site and online on 29 August 2022, and kicked off various induction programmes such as the year-long LEAP programme catering for learning needs. All postgraduate students are encouraged to participate actively in the wide range of research events and conferences organised by different departments and the School of Graduate Studies in order to improve their learning experience and research ability.
