Lingnan humanitarian inventions win international
design awards
PATENTS
The Lingnan Entrepreneurship Initiative (LEI) received two Gold awards at the MUSE Design Awards in the category Conceptual Design for their “CREW Wheelchair Control System” and “12° Mask” respectively.
The Awards are for creative professionals with an inspirational concept, idea or design. The two LEI designs are humanitarian technologies for the needs of elderly caregivers and hearing- impaired people.
The 12° Mask, which is a transparent anti-COVID-19 face mask, was also the 1st Runner Up at the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers’ Enginpreneurs Award 2021. The theme of the Award this year was “Building an Environmentally Sustainable Hong Kong”.
Prof Albert Wing Yin KO, Director of LEI, is the project leader of the two award winning designs and an autonomous UV-C disinfection robot.
