Week 1 (Sep 2 - 10)

Description:

Training the Trainers Leadership Roundtables (TTLR) aims to develop university students a grounding in values-based leadership training. This induction seminar will introduce you the qualities of leadership and its upcoming 4 roundtable topics. If participants completed these 4 roundtable topics and write reflection, he / she will receive facilitation certificate.

Description:

Learning how to float is the first lesson in learning how to swim. You need to relax your body, let go of your fears and give yourself to the water. In this workshop, you will be taught how to float in water.

Description:

Swimming is an individual or team sport that requires the use of one's entire body to move through water. In this course, the four major swimming styles (Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke, and Freestyle) will be taught.

Description:

This workshop is designed to let students understand on how to effectively train up body muscles and concepts of weight control. Instructor will enable students to practice various training steps upon needs and ability level of individual students. Students will be qualified to use the equipment of the University’s fitness room once he or she completed this workshop.

Lingnan Living Well Ambassadors play a vital role in supporting Lingnan's mission to promote wellbeing in the community. Students will receive mental and physical health training as well as engaging in various events and campaigns to advocate wellness in the University. The briefing will give details of the structure of the scheme, trainings & services opportunities and also the recognition system.

Biodiversity is the variability among living organisms. This variability is not only important for organisms to adapt to changes in their physical environment and perform different roles and functions in their living milieu; humans also derive a wide range of benefits from biodiversity. This tour will introduce the concept of biodiversity and sustainability through exploring and appreciating the biodiversity on campus.

Many new senior year admittees find it difficult to integrate into new campus. They may easily feel overwhelmed to a new set of academic expectations, making new friends, new living environment of hostels, and selection amongst co-curricular and sports activities during junior study. How to plan ahead for 2 year study at Lingnan smartly and wisely is a first step to achieve personal success. This 2-hour workshop is specially designed for new senior year admittees. Speakers will offer new senior year admittees powerful tips on how to effectively manage time to fulfil academic and ILP requirements. Most importantly, new senior students will learn how to better manage emotions and meet the challenges in university life.

Description:

Orbis believes everyone deserves functioning eyesight regardless of their age, income or ethnic background. To increase awareness on eye health, Orbis is now recruiting Eye Brightening Advocates, to help assimilate eyecare awareness at every level of local society. Eye Brightening Advocates can participate in many volunteer experiences of Orbis and will add a sense of accomplishment to one’s positive energy! Eye Brightening Advocates may have the chance to help out with office clerical work, or using one’s creativity to influence others on the internet, or deliver eyecare talk to the community, etc.

This Briefing and Training Session of the Orbis Hong Kong – Eye Brightening Advocate Programme is designed to facilitate interested parties in knowing more about the background of Orbis Hong Kong, as well as background and details of the Eye Brightening Advocates Programme. This session is especially suitable to students who have an initial interest in the Orbis Eye Brightening Advocate Programme and wish to have an glimpse of the Programme before joining.
