Lingnan University and Sun Yat-sen University deepen cooperation at the 7th annual cooperative development committee meeting

Despite the challenges of the global pandemic, Lingnan University (LU) and Sun Yat-sen University (SYSU) are collaborating more actively.

On 21 January 2022, Professor Haipeng Xiao, Executive Vice-President of SYSU, and other representatives, hosted the 7th annual cooperative development committee meeting with LU delegates and representatives led by Professor Joshua Ka-Ho Mok, Vice-President of LU, and Lam Man Tsan, Chair Professor of Comparative Policy, to discuss the possibilities and direction of further cooperation between the two institutions.

At the meeting, Professor Mok said that the two institutions will explore further opportunities for collaboration in joint research, teaching and learning, talent development, student exchange programmes and other potential systems. Professor Xiao said that the development of both institutions should be service-oriented, and aim to cultivate talents instilled by Lingnan Spirit and ultimately benefitting China. He added that LU and SYSU should join forces to contribute to deepening Hong Kong teenagers’ understanding of the Mainland, and that through their long-term partnership, more young scholars have joined the workforce, contributing to the cooperation between the two institutions.

Both Professors Xiao and Mok acknowledged and gave thanks for the significant efforts made by all, which set a good foundation for greater development in research and the other joint initiatives of the two institutions.
