STEM Education Project for the Youth

Led by Hong Kong Federation of Education Workers, The STEAM Education and Research Centre of Lingnan University (“The STEAM Centre”), Hong Kong STEM Education Alliance (“The Alliance”), Hong Kong Youth and Tertiary Students Association, IET Hong Kong, Hong Kong Information Technology Joint Council co-host " STEM Education Project for the Youth”. The STEAM Center is mainly responsible for assisting in the organization of robotic training courses at this stage.

The project is sponsored by the Bank of China (Hong Kong). The project will start the first phase from April 2021, providing robotic training courses for 900 junior high school students in 30 high schools. The second phase will be launched in November this year, providing robotic training courses to teachers and students from primary schools and non-profit organizations. The third stage will be arranged to hold high-level courses in the University’s STEM-related centers, combined with related university lectures, in order to provide drone training courses.

This project not only emphasizes in students' knowledge and theoretical foundation, but also emphasizes students' hands-on design and operation ability. We hope to promote STEM education in Hong Kong through high-quality robotic training and competition. The competition is divided into Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. The winning students from the Hong Kong area will have the opportunity to receive a half-year STEM training program from industrial experts in September next year.
