Full-time: 1 year  (maximum study period of 2 years)

Programme structure

Students must complete 24 credits, including a long essay on comparative China-Africa Studies, and seven other courses. Each course carries 3 credits.

Term 1 (September to December)

  1. Theories and Approaches of International Relations
  2. Politics of Global Economic Interdependence
  3. Theories and Approaches of Comparative Politics
  4. Introduction to China-Africa Studies

Term 2 (January to June)

  1. Religion, Culture and Development in Africa and China 
  2. International Symposium on Sino-African Studies (based on an annual symposium on varying themes on China-Africa) 
  3. China-Africa Relations: Past and Present
  4. Long Essay on Comparative China-Africa Studies
