“Are you watching me?” Image-based Sexual Violence Prevention Workshop

 

Objective:

At the end of the workshop, students will be able to:

1. know what is "Sexual Violence" and "Image-based Sexual Violence";

2. understand the concept of "consent" and how it plays out in daily life; and

3. know how to avoid or respond to "Image-based Sexual Violence".

 

Description:

In addition to introducing the Anti480 Anti-Sexual Violence Resource Centre, the speaker will use videos, case discussions, role-play, and case sharing to highlight "Image-based Sexual Violence" and advise the participants on how to avoid and respond to "Image-based Sexual Violence".

Objective:

At the end of the workshop, students will be able to:

1. have a better understanding of the potential financial or consumer traps;

2. know how to avoid the potential financial or consumer traps and to keep themselves living from paycheck to paycheck; and                       

3. set up their financial plan for consumption to maintain a financially balanced life and thus a harmonious interpersonal relationship with people around.

 

Description:

Through the introduction of the potential financial and consumer traps, the speaker will highlight the concept, the importance and the means of personal financial planning and budgeting in order to help the participants plan and live a well-balanced life under a financial healthy condition and maintain a harmonious interpersonal relationship with people around.

健康宿舍生活好 EASY – 識飲識食

Eat Healthy. Live Healthy. How to Choose the Right Food and Drinks for a Healthy Hostel Life?

 

Objective:

At the end of the workshop, students will be able to:

1. know the differences between saturated and non-saturated fats;

2. pick the appropriate food (fast and junk food inclusive) and drinks for their needs; and

3. enjoy the hostel life with a healthy and balanced diet.

 

Description:

Snacks, fast food, fast meals, and soft drinks, etc. seem indispensable in hostel life.  How could I eat and drink healthily while enjoying the hostel life with all these fast and junk food and soft drinks?  Through the workshop, the speaker will share the differences between saturated and non-saturated fats, the differences between the eating habits of local and non-local students, and the healthy eating and drinking tips for embracing a healthy university or residential life. Several mobile APPs will be also be introduced for monitoring the diet and body condition.

Description:

Communication can be tricky sometimes, especially if you are speaking with someone coming from a different cultural background. The workshop will address essential elements in communications, how to open up a dialogue, cultural factors that may hinder the communication process, and how to communicate effectively to foster long-term relationships.

Objective:

At the end of the activity, students will be able to:

1. appreciate themselves about their talents ;

2. understand and recognize students with different abilities (e.g., Speech, Music, Sports, etc.); and

3. gain acceptance and appreciation from other students through sharing.

 

Description:

If you enjoy performing, this is a good chance for you! The types of performance could be diversified, such as music, dancing, storytelling, magic, etc. These performances are supposed to be meaningful to you. In this activity, you are invited to take turns to be the performers and audiences. After each performance, the performers will share the meaning of the performance, why they are enthusiastic about it, and the influence exerted on them. The audience is also invited to share their feelings about the "performer" (includes their performances and sharing) with non-judgmental and appreciative attitudes. The performers voluntarily reflect their feelings to the audience. This activity aims to enhance students' sense of admiration of others and others' influence on them.

Scrap-to-craft Workshop

 

Objective:

At the end of the workshop, students will be able to:

2. transform disposables to reusable goods;

3. evaluate the idea of the sustainable product life cycle to give waste a second life; and

4. provide learning opportunities for strengthening students’ understanding of green, healthy style.

 

Description:

This workshop allows students to design fabric craft by recreating with their old clothes. The instructor will introduce basic fabric-craft ideas and techniques to students. Sterilized fabric will be provided while students can also bring along their old clothes as materials. In the end, students will be able to create their reusable cup sleeves to reduce the amount of plastic used in their lifestyle.

Description:

The speaker will explain the Sino-British talks over Hong Kong's future from a historical perspective, which is mainly informed by the historical archives declassified by the British government. Several key events in the 1980s have fundamentally shaped the development of Hong Kong and left a profound impact on the sociopolitical environment after 1997.
