「日本新音樂教父」坂本龍一是當代最重要的藝術家之一。影片跟隨其腳步，思索其四十多年的音樂之旅。他的音樂與心路同行，從最早的電子音樂頑童，到《末代皇帝溥儀》榮獲奧斯卡最佳原創電影配樂生涯，再經歷311福島核災，及自咽喉癌康復過來等種種經歷，讓坂本認真思考音樂與現今社會、大自然和人類起始的關係。「CODA」意為樂曲終句，坂本在片中則賦予其新的釋義：一曲的終結，代表另一新曲的開始。本片入圍威尼斯影展非競賽單元。

One of the most important artists of our era, Ryuichi Sakamoto, has had a prolific career spanning over four decades, from techno-pop stardom to Oscar-winning film composer. The evolution of his music has coincided with his life journeys. Following Fukushima, Sakamoto became an iconic figure in Japan’s social movement against nuclear power. As Sakamoto returns to music following his personal experience with cancer, a haunting awareness of life crises leads to a resounding new masterpiece. Ryuichi Sakamoto: CODA is an intimate portrait of both the artist and the man. The movie is also selected to be screened Out of Competition - Non Fiction in Venice Film Festival.
