A New Course in Eco-translation: A Treat for Nature and Language lovers

Are you interested in nature and translation? If so, you will be delighted to know that the Department of Translation is offering a new course, TRA4327 Eco-translation, which will teach you how to translate texts related to nature and ecology.

In this course, you will not only learn about the theory and practice of eco-translation, but also about the rich biodiversity of Hong Kong, especially on our campus. You will have the opportunity to go on mini field trips around the campus to observe and identify various plants and animals, and to collect data for your presentation.

Prof. STERK Darryl Cameron, the instructor of the course, says, “The aim of this course is to have fun while learning about nature, mainly in Hong Kong. You will also improve your translation skills, your awareness of environmental issues, and your appreciation of nature’s beauty.”
