On 1 June, 2024, the Department of Translation’s 38th anniversary and graduation gala illuminated Hotel Alexandra with a vibrant celebration, bringing together students, faculty, alumni and other guests for an unforgettable evening. The night unfurled with a captivating video that paid homage to the department’s legacy and the educators who have shaped its success, setting a tone of jubilant retrospection.
Professors Rachel Lung, Chang Nam-fung, and Sun Yifeng took to the stage, imparting wisdom and extending warm wishes to the graduates. A chorus of toasts rang out as faculty members raised their glasses high, their words a cascade of hope for the graduates’ boundless futures.
The winners of the “My life as a translation student” vlog competition were celebrated, showcasing their engaging stories that highlighted the dynamic journey of translation students at Lingnan. The students’ society orchestrated a rousing “Guess the song” game, infusing the evening with laughter and playful melodies.
The evening’s finale was a shared moment of reflection as alumni and students recounted their treasured experiences with our department.
