As our first initiative, we’re pleased to introduce some new courses that we’ll be offering in the coming academic year. Our first course is TRA3244 Translating Travel Literature, which will be taught by Prof. Bai Yunfei. In this course, students will explore travel literature from around the world, including destinations such as Machu Picchu in Peru, the deserts of Dunhuang, and the gorges of the Yangtze river. Prof. Bai will discuss the work of legendary travel writers and how to appreciate them, providing students with a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of travel writing and translation.

Prof. Bai had this to say about the course:

“I’m thrilled to be teaching TRA3244 Translating Travel Literature this year. This course will allow students to explore the beauty and diversity of travel literature from around the world, while also providing them with valuable skills and insights into the art of translation. I welcome all students who are interested in this fascinating topic to join us for what promises to be an unforgettable journey.”

We hope you’ll join us for this exciting new course and stay tuned for more information about our upcoming offerings.
