Prof. STERK Darryl Cameron promoted to Associate Professor for his excellence in translation and indigenous studies

We are delighted to announce that Prof. STERK Darryl Cameron, from the Department of Translation, has been promoted to Associate Professor. In addition to his role as a translation teacher, Prof. STERK is a translator of Taiwanese fiction from Mandarin Chinese to English, as well as an aspiring naturalist and ecotranslator. He is also interested in the field of indigenous translation studies, which explores the translation to or from languages of indigenous peoples. His current research focuses on Seediq, an endangered language spoken by the Seediq people in Taiwan. He is originally from Edmonton, Canada, but has made his life in East Asia. Please join us in congratulating Prof. STERK on his well-deserved promotion!
