Outstanding Performance Scholarship for Elite Athlete

Purpose and Background

To recognize students’ outstanding sports performance and to support elite athlete to pursue the programme, the “Outstanding Performance Scholarship for Elite Athlete” (the Scholarships) will be established from 2023-24. 

The following regulations shall apply:

1. The Scholarships shall be known as “Outstanding Performance Scholarship for Elite Athlete”.
2. The Scholarships will be awarded to a maximum of four students in each academic year. The value of each Half and Full scholarship will be HK$25,000 and HK$50,000 per annum respectively. The Scholarships will be awarded on an annual renewal basis subject to the academic performance of awardees’ two-year studies in the University and the availability of fund.

Eligibility and Criteria

1. The Scholarships shall be awarded to full-time undergraduate students of the Bachelor of Social Sciences in Sports Coaching and Event Management (SCEM).
2. Awardee should be awardees of the Entrance Scholarships for Elite Athletes, demonstrate outstanding sports performance and be nominated by the Office of Student Affairs.
3. The Scholarships will be awarded on an annual renewal basis subject to the academic performance of awardees’ two-year studies in the University and the availability of funding. Awardees should achieve a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 2.5 or above in the previous academic year.

Role of awardees

The awardees should prepare to be a Sports Leader / Student-athlete to represent the programme to participate in sport activities and events and work as a Students Ambassador to promote the SCEM programme.
