In line with the University's Strategic Plan 2019-2025, driving Research Excellence and Knowledge Transfer forms a core development for the University. Responding to the external review of research centres in 2019, the University has decided to establish the Institute of Policy Studies as an institutional research organization to incorporate a few research units with policy studies focus for promoting deep collaboration. The establishment of the Institute of Policy Studies is also aligning with the University Grants Committee's strong advocacy for collaboration across institutions in research and academic programmes.

The setting up of the Institute of Policy Studies would position Lingnan University as a leading centre for policy studies, offering not only cutting-edge research and knowledge transfer activities but also high quality professional training. The Institute plans to promote inter-university, inter-faculty and cross research centre research collaborations. Leading universities and research institutes like the University of Oxford, the University of Cambridge, the University of Bath, the University of Durham in the United Kingdom, Peking University, Zhejiang University, Sun Yat Sen University and the South China University of Technology in Mainland China, the International Christian University and Tohoku University in Japan, the National Cheng Chi University and the National Taiwan University in Taiwan, McMaster University and the University of Toronto in Canada, and the University of Wisconsin, Madison and the East-West Centre in the USA, just name a few here as our research partners.

We welcome you to visit our website to explore and develop interesting policy research from comparative and international perspectives. Working together with synergy, I believe our research will contribute not only to policy formulation and enhancement of policy implementation. The professional training and evidence based research will also promote Research with IMPACT, Impact with Care.

I look forward to working with you for making a better world through policy research addressing changing needs of our contemporary world.
