Abstract
Making health care accessible to all at cost affordable to both households and governments poses a series of related but distinct policy design challenges. The objective of the seminar is to explore the key challenges and discuss how they have been dealt with in East Asia. The seminar will focus particularly on the challenges related to governance, provision, financing, payment, and regulation in China, Hong Kong, and South Korea. The seminar is based on the speaker’s forthcoming co-authored (with Azad Bali) book “Health Policy in Asia” to be published by Cambridge University Press in early 2022.
