From March 24th to 27th, 2023, the first cohort of students in the Doctor of Business Administration in Global Digital Economy and Governance (DBA in GDEG) programme at Lingnan University successfully completed their four-day residential workshop and started their thesis preparation stage. The workshop featured academic exchanges, on-site field visits, and thesis topic defenses.

During the workshop, the students had the opportunity to visit various organizations such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences Hong Kong Innovation Research Institute's Artificial Intelligence and Robotics Innovation Center (CAIR), SenseTime, Cyberport, and FWD Group. They also listened to lectures by experts in the field of green finance.

The program office held a networking dinner to celebrate the successful completion of the courses. Professor CHENG Kwok Hon Leonard, the President of Lingnan University, and Professor LENG Mingming, the Dean of the Faculty of Business attended the dinner. During the event, Professor CHENG praised the students' efforts in the DBA programme and expressed high expectations for their future achievements. Professor LENG Mingming also encouraged students to work hard on their papers and promised continued support from the Faculty of Business.

The DBA in GDEG programme was launched in 2021 with academic support from the School of Graduate Studies, Lingnan University, and the School of Social Sciences, Tsinghua University. The programme aims to cultivate senior managers, entrepreneurs, government officials, and other business professionals from multinational companies and mainland China enterprises to adapt to changing industry trends in the digital age.

The programme emphasizes international perspectives, innovative thinking, and diversified abilities to enhance students' business capabilities and relationship networks to maintain their competitive advantage. It provides students with a solid theoretical and practical foundation, cultivates practical exploration capabilities in business and management fields, and lays a foundation for becoming future industry leaders.
