The staff from Library and ITSC were invited to provide a hybrid mode of training and share the essential information on facilities, websites and services for the newcomers. Anti-deception talk for postgraduates
To raise students’ anti-deception awareness on various kinds of scams, the GS invited speakers from the Hong Kong Police Force to share with students about the recent fraudulent activities, provide tips to the non-local students and remind them to stay alert in fighting and preventing the suspicious deception cases.

Mental health: Happy Learning Journey at LU
The GS cares about the mental health of postgraduate students throughout their studying journey. Therefore, the GS staff organised a “Happy Learning Journey at LU” workshop. Dr. Gloria Wong, the Counsellor from the Office of Student Affairs, shared the methods of thinking and resolving the pressure and tips to the students for reducing their stress and enhancing their inner focus. In addition, the GS staff celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival with the students who attended the workshop on-site to cultivate their friendship sentiments.

Hong Kong Day Trip
GS and LIFE co-organised a day trip for postgraduate students in September. The local students were invited to serve as mentors to lead five groups of non-local students for touring around Hong Kong on a Sunday. The non-local students were able to meet friends from different programmes and backgrounds while they were led to learn about the unique culture of Hong Kong and the transportation systems in Hong Kong. Participants learned about the different cultures and characteristics of Hong Kong through the activities organised by the mentors. The day trip also served as an orientation and provided new learning experiences to those newcomers.
