Graduate Survey

The MIDE Programme is determined to nurture professionals who are in the fields of finance, banking, commerce and trading services, public services, academic research and other professional services, and individuals who are interested in developing their careers in participating countries in the Belt and Road Initiative and different Bay Areas.


2020-21 Graduates Survey Report

In November 2021, the Programme Office conducted a graduate employment survey on our students (AY2020-21 intake). 52% of graduates were able to find full-time jobs or become self-employed in the sectors of finance, banking, civil service, and education sector after their completion of their study. 61.5% of the full-time job holders were able to secure full-time employment within 3 months. 8% decided to further study. The employment rate of this year’s recent graduates was silently improved compared with the previous years but it still affected by the economic environment under COVID-19. All graduates agreed that the MIDE Programme enhanced their knowledge and applied skills of the Belt and Road Initiatives and the Greater Bay Area economic development.

2019-20 Graduates Survey Report

In September 2020, the Programme Office conducted graduate employment surveys on our students (AY2019-20 intake). 44.8 % respondents were able to find full-time jobs or become self-employed in the sectors of finance, civil service, education and NGOs within 3 months after the completion of their studies. 11.7% decided to further their studies. The employment rate of this year’s recent graduates was far lower than the previous year. It was mainly due to the sudden change in economic environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 96.6% of graduates agreed that the overall content of the MIDE programme was very helpful and relevant to their career development.

2018-19 Graduates Survey Report

In October 2019, the Programme Office conducted graduate employment surveys on our students (AY2018-19 intake). It showed that 72.8% of respondents were able to find full time jobs or become self-employed after graduation in the sectors of finance, civil service, education and NGOs within 3 months after the completion of their studies. This matches with the Programme’s main objective to nurture professionals who are in the fields of finance, banking, commerce and trading services, public services, academic research and other professional services. We also found that 60% of the graduate respondents work in the financial services industry.
