Department of Finance

The Department of Finance (FIN) was established in 2024. Emerging from the transition of the former Department of Finance and Insurance, the department refines its focus towards the provision of finance-related research and education. The department consistently seeks to provide quality education and equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in the innovative world of finance. With a diverse faculty of professional scholars and accredited industry experts, the department provides a comprehensive range of programmes that span various areas of expertise in finance, including corporate finance, investment, financial market and institutions, and financial innovation (e.g. financial technology, decentralized finance, and sustainable finance).

 

The department hosts the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) (major in Finance), Master of Science in Finance, along with MPhil and PhD programmes, all of which are designed to cultivate future leaders in the field of finance, empowering them to make significant contributions to Hong Kong, a leading international financial hub.
