Lingnan expands city learning hubs to answer student needs

Providing quality education and catering to student requirements are key to Lingnan University. And, to respond to the needs of the expanding Lingnan community and student base, and fulfil the objective “Enhancing Campus Infrastructure and Planning Campus Expansion” in Lingnan’s Strategic Plan 2022-28, LU established the hostel and teaching and learning centre at the Jao Tsung-I Academy (JTIA) in Lai Chi Kok, and the Union Park Learning Centre in Prince Edward in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

A few minutes’ walk from MTR stations, JTIA features a multimedia classroom, teaching and learning facilities, and two hostel blocks furnished in contemporary Chinese style with modern amenities, offering comfortable and affordable residential places for Lingnan’s postgraduate students.

Thanks to the favourable and enthusiastic reception of the JTIA, Lingnan then set up the Union Park Learning Centre in the heart of Prince Edward in September 2022, providing Lingnan Institute of Further Education (LIFE) and postgraduate students with a convenient learning venue that fulfils their needs.

The off-site campus is right next to Exit E of Prince Edward MTR station, on the 6th and 9th floors of the Union Park Centre. The centre has a common area with computers and printing facilities, and each classroom is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, including dual computer monitors, and 86" and 65" interactive panels and displays, as well as ceiling cameras.

Lingnan’s student base, and in particular its taught master degree programmes, have recorded a substantial expansion in recent years. More advancement projects on and off campus are in the pipeline to serve the Lingnan community and beyond.
