iFixPhone is startup that aims to provide face to face maintenance service to iPhone users.

The Issue

They discovered that according to the research in (C&SD) showed that smartphones had become more popular and dominant in the market. Thus, there must be enormous potential of the related business of smartphones yet to be explored. Especially in Hong Kong, the price of professional mobile phone repair are high, and the procedures is too complicated. In addition, the marketing strategy of merchants is that they often encourage customers to buy a new mobile phone rather than repair the old one, which causes lots of waste.

The Solution

In response to the above problems, they promise to give a special discount for students to encourage them to keep their devices in a good condition and will charge them with an more affordable price. Firstly, they provide online consultations related to mobile phone issues, and they also establish appointment channels on major social platforms, e.g. WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook etc. Then arrange the schedule to meet with the customer face to face for a further evaluation, for example, the OLED/IPS LED display monitor, the battery, or the vibration motor. Generally speaking, the whole maintenance service can be done within 30 minutes unless the phone has a problem that is difficult to fix.

Impact

They are committed to opposing the excessive consumption and advocating minimalism to reduce unnecessary waste of electronic resources. And the offer of student discounts and other concessions reflects its humane and highly flexible business concept. In the future, they are also considering expanding their repair brands to mobile phones other than iPhone in order to meet the mobile phone repair needs of the masses.
