Data analytics has emerged as a pivotal discipline that empowers organizations to extract valuable insights from vast amounts of data, enabling them to gain a competitive edge, drive innovation, and solve complex challenges. By establishing this school with a dedicated emphasis on data analytics, we are taking a bold step forward to equip our students with the necessary skills and knowledge to navigate the ever-expanding realm of data-driven decision-making.

At the School of Data Science, our vision is to cultivate an environment that fosters a deep understanding of the principles, methodologies, and tools underpinning effective data analytics. Our esteemed faculty members, experts in the field, will guide and inspire students to explore the frontiers of data analytics through rigorous academic programs and cutting-edge research initiatives.

Our school provides a comprehensive curriculum that integrates both theoretical foundations and practical applications, ensuring that our graduates are well-equipped to tackle real-world challenges in this rapidly evolving field. Our school comprises two divisions: the Division of Artificial Intelligence and the Division of Industrial Data Science, along with the LEO Dr David P. Chan Institute of Data Science. These two divisions offer a wide range of programs, including the LEO Dr David P. Chan Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Data Science, a Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence and Business Analytics, a Master of Science in Data Science, and a collaborative program, a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) in Digital Business. In addition, our school is in the process of establishing two new programs: a Master of Science in Industrial Data Analytics and a Master of Engineering in Smart City Technologies and Applications.

The School of Data Science has attracted a team of renowned researchers, consisting of members from prestigious academies and societies such as the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, highly cited researchers, and fellows of esteemed organizations such as the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences, the U.S. National Academy of Inventors, the International Federation of Automatic Control, and IEEE fellows.

Furthermore, our school will actively nurture partnerships with industry leaders, organizations, and research institutions that are at the forefront of data analytics. These collaborations will provide our students with exposure to real-world datasets, access to cutting-edge tools and technologies, and opportunities for internships and industry projects. By bridging the gap between academia and industry, we will ensure that our graduates possess the practical skills and industry-relevant knowledge that are highly sought after by employers.
