Professor Ka Ho Mok Presents his Latest Research at Peking University and Builds Collaborations with Universities in Beijing

On 12 to 13 May 2024, Professor Mok Ka Ho, the Vice President of Lingnan University, was invited to attend the conference and workshop, which was held at the Peking University, in Beijing, China. The symposium was organized by the Graduate School of Education, Peking University and themed as “International Student Mobility and international research in the post pandemic era: a geopolitics perspective’.

Professor Mok, being appointed as Honorary Professor of Beijing University of Technology, delivered a talk on transnational higher education in China and Asia. This presentation examined the issues surrounding quality assurance and student learning in Asia, specifically when enrolling in transnational education. In addition to his presentation, Professor Mok also engaged in discussion with higher education researchers from Beijing University of Technology, with the aim of deepening collaboration in academic and research programs.

Notably, Professor Mok also presented a paper at the Peking University Symposium on Geopolitics on Higher Education on 13 May. His paper, entitled"China's Approach to Inward Student Mobility since 1949: A Critical Review of the State Role from Historical and Political Economy Perspectives," was well-received by participants.

While in Beijing, Professor Mok also took the opportunity to explore potential collaboration with colleagues from Peking University, further establishing Lingnan University's connections and partnerships within the academic community. Overall, Professor Mok's visit was a success, and he continues to be a valuable contributor to the field of higher education.
