New Student Orientation (NSO)

The University provides essential information and supporting network for new students through face-to-face and online programmes carried out in New Student Orientation (NSO). 

NSO aims at helping you adjust to university life and build up necessary relationships. NSO includes Welcome Address by the President, talks, library and campus introductions and connections with university staff, etc. 


The following arrangements are made to cater for new students with different reporting days:

Type A

Type C

Students who are admitted before 22 August 2023 (12:00 noon) should:

1.  complete the online M1 programmes (Item 1 – 16) by 30 September 2023; and

2.  attend the face-to-face NSO programmes on 25 August 2023; and

3.  attend the face-to-face Campus Life Carnival on 7 September 2023.

Students who are admitted between 22 August 2023 (12:00 noon) and 6 September 2023 should:

1.  complete the online M1 programmes (Item 1 – 16) by 30 September 2023; and

2.  complete the online M2 programmes (Item 17 – 20) by 30 September 2023; and

3.  attend the face-to-face Campus Life Carnival on 7 September 2023.

Students who are admitted on or after 7 September 2023 should:

1.  complete the online M1 programmes (Item 1 – 16) by 30 September 2023; and

2.  complete the online M2 programmes (Item 17 – 20) by 30 September 2023; and

3.  complete the online M3 programme (Item 21) by 30 September 2023.

Peer Mentor Programme 2023-24

New students are cordially invited to join the Peer Mentor Programme 2023-24 as a Peer Mentee to meet other peers and new students during small group meetings guided by the Peer Mentors. By joining the Peer Mentor Programme, you will be able to gain awareness of resources and support services on campus, and build a mentoring relationship with our senior students!
