The coming Common Recruitment Examination and Basic Law and National Security Law Test (Degree / Professional Grades) (CRE and BLNST) held in October 2024

The coming CRE and BLNST is tentatively scheduled to be held in Hong Kong on 5 October 2024, or another date within October 2024 if necessary. For the convenience of those studying or residing outside Hong Kong, the above examination is also tentatively scheduled to be held on 7 December 2024 in seven other cities, namely Beijing, Shanghai, London, New York, Toronto, Vancouver and Sydney. Applicants may choose to take any of the CRE papers and / or the BLNST paper in this examination.

The application period will run from 27 July to 9 August 2024. Any requests for change of examination date / time / venue will NOT be considered.

The application details and an on-line application system will be available on this webpage during the application period.

For the examination outside Hong Kong tentatively scheduled for December 2024, application will be called later this year.

Greater Bay Area Youth Employment Scheme

The Labour Department (LD) held the Greater Bay Area (GBA) Youth Employment Scheme and Pursuing New Opportunities Job Fair at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai on March 14 and 15. Around 4 000 vacancies from various industries had provided for job seekers, including positions which are more suitable for graduates of tertiary institutions.

The 2024 Scheme is now commenced. Young persons who are Hong Kong residents legally employable in Hong Kong and holding bachelor's degrees or above awarded by universities / tertiary institutions within or outside Hong Kong in 2022 to 2024 are eligible for the Scheme.

Common Recruitment Examination and Basic Law and National Security Law Test (Degree / Professional Grades) in June 2024

The application period for the coming CRE and BLNST will be from 23 March to 5 April 2024.  The application details and an on-line application system will be available at https://www.csb.gov.hk/english/recruit/cre/949.html during the application period.  Applicants may choose to take any of the CRE papers / or the BLNST paper in this examination.

The CRE and BLNST is open to all holders of degree or a qualification meeting the entry requirement on professional qualifications for civil service degree or professional posts.  Students who will have attained a degree in the academic year of 2023-24 or 2024-25 may also apply to take the coming CRE and BLNST.

The Civil Services Bureau (CSB) will participate and set up a booth (1D-A02) in the Education & Careers Expo 2024 organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) from January 25 to 28 (Thursday to Sunday) at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in Wan Chai.
