Mobile Phones
Mobile phones are widely used in Hong Kong and most residents own one. The network in Hong Kong has good coverage, even underground.
Hong Kong uses the GSM cellular phone system like most parts of the world. Students can either bring their mobile phone that operates on this system or buy a new one after arrival. Prepaid SIM cards are available for purchase at convenience stores. After obtaining the Hong Kong ID card, students can apply for a monthly mobile plan at any telecommunication company, by providing their Hong Kong ID card, passport and proof of residential address in Hong Kong. The nearest mobile phone service providers are located in Tuen Mun Town Centre.
WiFi
Free Wifi service is available in Hong Kong in many places, such as the Hong Kong International Airport, major parks and gardens, public libraries, MTR stations, coffee shops, etc.
Internet Connection on Campus
WiFi Connection
Free WiFi is available on the Lingnan campus and in student hostels. Before connecting to the wireless networks on campus, students will need to set up user authentication for security reasons.

Postal Service
The nearest post office to Lingnan University is located in the Fu Tai Shopping Centre, which is only a 10-minute walk from the campus. Postage stamps are available at the post office as well as convenience stores.
