Update on Desktop PC / AV Equipment On Loan Service
ITSC is thrilled to announce some exciting updates and improvements to the Desktop PC / AV equipment on loan services. In our ongoing efforts to enhance user experience and address previous concerns, we are pleased to introduce the following updates:
- New Desktop PC for Part-time / Project / Non UGC-funded Temporary Staff
Starting from June 2023, we have revised our PC provision policy and secured additional funding from the University to extend the provision to all UGC-funded part-time staff, project staff on project funding, and temporary staff on non-UGC funding to better cater to the needs of our university community. Under the new policy, ITSC has acquired new PCs for departments to support this group of staff. We will be recalling all old PCs on loan from your department for decommissioning to address performance and security issues that arose from previous practices. To apply for a PC on a need basis, departmental users should submit the following request form in ITSC's Helpdesk system, with the recommendation and approval of their department head. All the new PCs will be pre-configured with Windows 11 operating system and Microsoft 365 Office.

2. New Desktop PC / AV Equipments On Loan for Supporting University Events
In concomitant with the above new provision, we have restricted the scope of the original Desktop PC / AV Equipment on loan service to support University events only. If you require equipment support for an University event, please submit the following Service Request "Desktop PC / AV Equipment On Loan for Supporting University Events" in ITSC's Helpdesk system.
