Students have to be “dauntless”, says TEDxLingnanUniversity 2019 organiser

Eight distinguished speakers from various professions and backgrounds will gather at Lingnan to share their insights on “dauntless” at the TEDxLingnanUniversity annual mainstage event on 23 February.

 

Steered by Marc LEBANE, Senior Lecturer and English Language Support Service Coordinator of the Centre for English and Additional Languages, the TEDxLingnanUniversity is an independent event that inherits the global nonprofit organisation TED’s mission – to spread ideas that change attitudes, lives and, ultimately, the world.

 

To LeBane, “dauntless” means being courageous in the face of adversity. “It means never backing down from a challenge. There will always be challenges, especially in the lives of university students. Being dauntless means facing these challenges head on, with determination instead of doubt,” he says.

 

Organised independently under a free license granted by TED, TEDx events include live speakers and recorded TED Talks that bring the spirit of TED’s mission of ideas worth spreading to local communities around the globe.

 

This year’s TEDxLingnanUniversity has invited a diverse group of speakers from various fields and backgrounds, ranging from business, architecture, to environmental protection and sustainability. The lineup includes:

8. Sonalie FIGUEIRAS, Founder and Editor-in-Chief, Green Queen; Founder and CEO, Ekowarehouse
