Common Recruitment Examination and Basic Law and National Security Law Test (Degree / Professional Grades) in June 2024

The application period for the coming CRE and BLNST will be from 23 March to 5 April 2024.  The application details and an on-line application system will be available at https://www.csb.gov.hk/english/recruit/cre/949.html during the application period.  Applicants may choose to take any of the CRE papers / or the BLNST paper in this examination. 

The CRE and BLNST is open to all holders of degree or a qualification meeting the entry requirement on professional qualifications for civil service degree or professional posts.  Students who will have attained a degree in the academic year of 2023-24 or 2024-25 may also apply to take the coming CRE and BLNST.

Education & Careers Expo 2024

The JRE in Hong Kong

The JRE in Hong Kong will be held on 2 December 2023. Special arrangement has been made for JRE candidates who do not possess the requisite Common Recruitment Examination (CRE) (or equivalent) and/or Basic Law and National Security Law Test (Degree / Professional Grades) (BLNST) results to take the relevant CRE paper(s) and/or BLNST on the same day of the JRE or another date within December 2023. These candidates have been informed of the special arrangement by the relevant recruiting grades on 8 November 2023.

An e-mail will be sent to candidates between 14 and 19 November 2023 notifying them of the relevant examination details. If any candidates do not receive the e-mail by 20 November 2023, they should immediately contact the CSEU by phone at (852) 2537 6429 or by e-mail to [email protected]. Any request for change of examination date / time / venue will NOT be considered.

Recruitment for six civil service graduate grades to start on Saturday

The Government will launch the joint recruitment exercise for appointment as Administrative Officer (AO), Executive Officer II, Assistant Labour Officer II, Assistant Trade Officer II, Management Services Officer II and Transport Officer II in 2023-24 this Saturday (September 16). The deadline for submitting application is 5pm on October 6 (Hong Kong time).

Students pursuing a bachelor's degree or equivalent and graduating in the year of 2024 or 2025 may also apply.
