Funded by the Quality Education Fund, Lingnan University (LU) collaborates with the eight secondary schools for a two-year project – ‘Gerontechnology 360° Education’ (the project) from August 2021-2022. This project aims to offer secondary school students a three-phase life-wide experiential learning experience. They will be trained as community leaders and equipped with Gerontechnology knowledge and practice. Through cross-sectoral collaboration, LU believes this project can promote Gerontechnology and Smart Ageing development on their campuses. Besides, this project on emphasising intergeneration collaboration aims to promote Values Education for young people and inspire them to rethink the relationship between Gerontechnology and intergenerational harmony.

LU hosted a ‘Gerontech Ambassador Recognition Ceremony cum Presentation’ for the project on 20-August 2022 in Baptist Wing Lung Secondary School. The ceremony allowed all participants to review past events and secondary school student teams to share their learning experiences. Professor Mok Ka Ho, the vice president of LU, remarked that the project strongly connects with the values of Lingnan’s Liberal Arts Education for students to learn about ageing issues. It provides a platform for young people to interact with older adults in the community and exchange innovative ideas on Gerontechnology through different highlighted activities.

The project team would like to express their gratitude to all secondary school teams (including Baptist Wing Lung Secondary School, Yan Chai Hospital No.2 Secondary School, Saint Francis Xavier's School Tsuen Wan, HKSKH Bishop Hall Secondary School, Lingnan Dr. Chung Wing Kwong Memorial Secondary School, Chinese Y.M.C.A. College, Church of Christ in China (CCC) Tam Lee Lai Fun Memorial Secondary School, and Salesians of Don Bosco Ng Siu Mui Secondary School), Gerontech Ambassadors and Lingnan students for their genuine support. There were almost 70 participants attended this ceremony.
