Prof Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, Prof Law Chi-kwong and Prof Wong Chack-kie appointed Adjunct Professors

LU’s Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS) has appointed the Hon Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, Prof Law Chi-kwong, and Prof Wong Chack-kie as Adjunct Professors.

 

Prof Matthew Cheung Kin-chung, who worked for almost 50 years in the Hong Kong Government and is well-known as the Chief Secretary for Administration from 2017 to 2021, will contribute hugely to APIAS’ teaching activities, particularly lecturing in the Health and Social Services Management programme, and offering strategic advice on research.

 

With extensive experience in public service and academia as well as detailed knowledge of poverty alleviation, social welfare and family matters, Prof Law Chi-kwong, Secretary for Labour and Welfare of the HKSAR from 2017 to 2022, will offer APIAS significant insights on developing impactful research, and advice on curriculum design, and deliver lectures.

 

Prof Wong Chack-kie, a full-time advisor of the Central Policy Unit of the HKSAR from 2012 to 2017, will contribute to the APIAS team’s research based on his experiences in teaching and academic research in social work and social policy.

 

The Asia-Pacific Institute of Ageing Studies (APIAS) was established in 1998, with the aim of maximising the well-being of our older generation through high quality research work and collaboration with health and social services practitioners, service users, policy makers, charities, public and private sectors, research institutions and local and international communities.
