Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury Joseph Chan discusses the latest development of Hong Kong’s finance with students.

On 20 February, Mr Joseph H.L. Chan, JP, Under Secretary for Financial Services and the Treasury, spent more than an hour with 120 students of Master of Science in International Banking and Finance (MIBF) and Master of Science in International and Development Economics (MIDE) Programme on Lingnan campus. In his lecture titled "The Positioning and Latest Development of Hong Kong as an International Financial Centre", Mr Chan explained Hong Kong’s recent outstanding developments and opportunities in areas like green finance, fixed-income financing, FinTech, wealth management and private equity. He also had a free dialogue with students to answer many questions and share his own experience, providing valuable insights for students to comprehensively understand the landscape of Hong Kong's financial sector.

Afterwards, Mr Chan stayed for lunch with the President of Lingnan University, Prof S. Joe Qin and his colleagues, discussing the University’s significant advancements in AI and data science, as well as their synergy with Lingnan’s liberal arts education.
