Lingnan University and South China University of Technology sign agreement to strengthen collaboration

Lingnan University deepened its partnership with the South China University of Technology (SCUT) in enhancing different aspects of student learning by concluding a collaboration agreement.

The agreement was signed by Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice-President and Lam Man Tsan Chair Professor of Comparative Policy of LU and Prof Zhu Min, Vice-President of SCUT on 16 May during the SCUT delegation’s visit to the Lingnan campus.

“Signing of the agreement with the South China University of Technology is an important step in materialising the University’s strategic plan in collaborating with leading universities in the region to offer master programmes and enhance student learning experience,” said Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho.

Under the collaboration framework, the two universities agreed to jointly offer two “1+1+1” double master degree programmes, namely the “Master of Social Sciences in Comparative Social Policy” and the “Master of Arts in International Higher Education and Management”.  The programmes will allow students of SCUT to conduct their first and third years of studies in SCUT, while study in Lingnan for the second year under the specific Articulation Schedule, starting from the 2017/18 academic year.

In addition, Lingnan and SCUT will set up two student exchange programmes, namely the “Visiting Elite Students Programme” that offers opportunities for outstanding SCUT final-year undergraduate students to study at Lingnan for one semester, and the “Postgraduate Student Exchange Programme” for full-time PhD students to undertake short-term research visits between Lingnan and SCUT.
