Lingnan receives Gold at Privacy-Friendly Awards 2023

Lingnan University is one of the three UGC-funded institutions to receive the Gold Award of the 2nd Privacy-Friendly Awards 2023 on the theme of “Embrace Privacy Management Programme to Gain Trust and Benefits”. The Awards are organised by the Office of the Privacy Commissioner for Personal Data (PCPD), Hong Kong for achievements in the protection of personal data privacy, and this is for the establishment of a comprehensive Personal Data Privacy Management Programme as part of the University’s policy and culture. Lingnan also received the Gold Certificate at the inaugural Privacy-Friendly Awards 2021. The Awards Presentation Ceremony, officiated by Mr Erick Tsang Kwok-wai, GBS, IDSM, JP, Secretary for Constitutional and Mainland Affairs, was held on 31 August at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.

 

Five designated Privacy Protection Measures have been set by the PCPD as goals, and a Gold Awardee must have completed them or have all five in place.

 

Lingnan University welcomes the PCPD’s recognition and is honoured to be one of the Gold Awardees. It will maintain its commitment to protecting the personal data privacy and rights of stakeholders, and continue to protect personal data and information security.
