Lingnan student receives Young Donor Award for giving blood 68 times

Lingnan University has actively collaborated with the Hong Kong Red Cross Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) for years to promote blood donation activities on campus. This year, Lingnan University was presented with the “Elite Partnership Award – University”.

Chan Sheung-to (pictured), a third-year student of Social Sciences and an enthusiastic blood donor, also received the “Young Donor Award” for giving blood 68 times.

“Encouraged by my family, I started donating blood at the age of 18. Over the past few years, I have continued to give blood, and hope to help more people in need.” Now, Chan makes an appointment to donate blood every two to three weeks, and to keep up his blood quality and ensure the safety of transfusion recipients, he eats less greasy food and follows a balanced diet.

Apart from donor sites and exhibition vehicles, the University’s Office of Student Affairs also works with the BTS to host health talks and exhibitions in support of the blood donation drives.
