Lingnan University co-organised the international symposium “The Transformation of East Asian Welfare States in the Post-COVID19 Era: Challenges, Opportunities and Futures” with National Taiwan University and the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong from 15 to 16 March. The symposium attracted speakers and participants from the UK, Japan, Mainland China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Korea. Prof Joshua Mok Ka-ho, Vice-President of Lingnan University presented a keynote speech, and Prof Padmore Amoah, Assistant Professor of the School of Graduate Studies, Prof Shi Cheng, Research Assistant Professor of the School of Graduate Studies, and PhD student Ms Weng Yawen also spoke at the symposium. 

Lingnan University and National Taiwan University, together with the Hang Seng University of Hong Kong, University of New South Wales in Australia, and Sun Yat-sen University in China, co-launched the Consortium for Social Change, Wellbeing and Social Policy Studies in the symposium to promote social policy research.
