Lingnan athletic teams visit Shanghai for sports exchange competition

Invited by Fudan University, five sports teams from Lingnan, namely Men’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Basketball, and Men’s and Women’s Volleyball, participated in the 2018 The Fifth Taiwan Cross-Strait cum Hong Kong and Macau University Student Sports Exchange Competition. A group of 60 students and coaches visited Fudan University in Shanghai from 8 to 15 August.
The 8-day exchange programme on sports aims to provide a platform for students across different regions to learn from each other and develop friendships through ball games. A total of 31 universities from Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau competed in various events for sports exchange. After keen competitions, both the Men’s Basketball Team and Women’s Volleyball Team from Lingnan achieved the sixth positions respectively.
The competition has enabled all the participating Lingnan athletes to build up a stronger cohesion within the team and between teams, and also friendships with other universities. In addition, it serves as an encouragement for these athletes to keep up and strive for excellence in the upcoming season of the inter-universities competitions.
